Globe Holds 1st Philippine Mobile Legends Tournament At Pinoy Gaming Festival 2017

Time to #HeatItUp this summer as Globe, in partnership with Gariath Concepts, brings back Pinoy Gaming Festival (PGF) 2017. Since 2009, PGF has given gaming fans something to look forward to with its annual video game convention in Manila. This year, more than 10,000 players and enthusiasts are geared up and ready to battle it out from April 28 to April 30, 2017 at the TriNoma Mall Activity Center.

Making this year’s PGF more exciting is the first and official Philippine Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Tournament hosted by Globe. Mobile Legends is an online game where players get to battle against real human opponents. They can choose their favorite heroes and build their dream team. Participating teams for this tournament will surely be on their toes as they battle it out for the coveted championship title. For the complete information about the Globe Mobile Legends Tournament at PGF, visit www.globe.com.ph/mobile-legends.

Mobile Legends: Bang Bang fall under what is called Multiplayer Online Battle Arena (MOBA), a strategy video game genre, where a player is in control of a single character and has the liberty to create a team with other players too. The objective is always to destroy the opposing team’s base.

As the countdown to the gaming festival begins, here are 3 facts about Mobile Legends:

  1. It’s all about teamwork and strategy

With Mobile Legends, you choose your battles and anchor your team to be the best among the rest with the right teamwork and strategy. New heroes are being released every now and then, so watch out for it!

2. Each Hero has its own strength

Make sure you strategize when choosing your hero. Take note that each hero has its strengths and weaknesses. All heroes in the team should complement each other. You have one hero to improve on and if you are a newbie, improve your main or favorite hero. Master using that hero first, and then try another one in the future.

3. In-app Rewards

Keep checking your in-app rewards so you can buy diamonds and coins in the game. Make sure you keep your game updated to earn more rewards and buy the equipment you need for battle.

At PGF, there will be various gaming competitions, booth activities, and freebies. In partnership with Moonton, the Mobile Legends community will be in for a treat as Globe will also be releasing a special Globe Skin during PGF. Dubbed as Blue Spectre, this exclusive Skin can be used to change your character’s look in the game. Guests just need to visit the Globe booth at PGF to know how get this on your favorite hero!

Last year, Globe cemented its partnership with one of Southeast Asia’s leading media group, Astro to give its customers a wider variety of content including access to The region’s first eSports and gaming entertainment platform, eGG Network. At PGF, eGG Network will be hosting various activities for more people to learn about the channel and its shows. They will also be doing a search for the first Filipino eGG host through live auditions during the festival. Interested individuals will be asked to create their own audition video coverage of PGF.

Lastly, some of eGG Network’s renowned talents will also be joining the weekend festival including eGG host pindaPanda, Danelie and Filipino member of Team Fnatic, DjardelJicko “DJ” Mampusti. Team Fnatic finished top 4 at The International 2016 for DOTA 2 last year.

As Globe Vice President for Content, Jil Go, says, “With the eSports and gaming community in the Philippines consistently gaining ground, Globe continues to strengthen its content portfolio to cater to more of its customers’ interests. Major events such as the annual Pinoy Gaming Festival as well as strong partnerships with eGG Network help us achieve that.”
