South Jakarta-based alternative / ”whatever-you-want-to-call-it” pop-rock duo rebelsuns. have just released a brand new music video of their new song ‘PORTLAND’ on Thursday, February 16th through their official YouTube channel. The song is the duo’s third single from their upcoming debut EP set to be released later this year. Inspired by bands like BABE, Mac DeMarco, The Rocket Summer to LANY and Motion City Soundtrack, the song is their most “pop” effort, channelling a wide array of diverse sounds into a can’t-get-it-out-of-my-head tune.
The release of their first two singles “The Things We Did (In The Thing We Had)” and “World Number Two”, was a strong debut – the latter was featured in multiple playlists curated by Spotify Indonesia. The band took this momentum and played a number of live shows around Jakarta, including a live appearance on NET.’s Indonesia Morning Show before traveling overseas to Vientiane, Laos to represent Indonesia in the ASEAN PLUS festival.
With PORTLAND being their last single before their upcoming EP, rebelsuns. are looking forward to using the momentum from the track to cement themselves in the Indonesian music scene, before setting up loftier goals for the band in the future.
PORTLAND is produced by Australian singer/producer/songwriter Hayden Jeffery of the Melbourne-based band KINGS. It was recorded and written by both rebelsuns. and Hayden Jeffery.
PORTLAND will be available on iTunes, Apple Music, Spotify and Deezer on February 20th 2017.
