STARBUCKS CHRISTMAS BLEND

Each year, our rare, aged Sumatra gives Christmas Blend its heart and soul. Sumatran beans take on such intriguing flavors over time – so we tend them meticulously for up to five years, specially roasting the beans at the exact moment of readiness to bring out the rich and vibrant cedary spice notes.

Flavor: Spicy and Sweet

Complementary Flavors: Orange, nutmeg, clove and cinnamon.

STARBUCKS CHRISTMAS BLEND ESPRESSO ROAST

The nuanced flavor of our rare, aged Sumatra evokes the richness of the season in this bold coffee, inspired by the tradition of Christmas Blend. The addition of dark-roasted Latin American and Indonesian beans lends a caramelly sweetness and hearty spiciness with cedary layers.

Flavor: Cedary and herbal spiciness with an intense caramelly sweetness

Complementary Flavors: Ginger, orange, pumpkin, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves and caramelized sugar.

The exact same finest aged Sumatra, lively Latin American and mellow Indonesian highest quality Arabica coffee at the heart of all of our Christmas Blends, now in a perfect, elegantly designed single use filter.

Brewing Procedures

  1. Gently separate filter at the top from center.
  2. Push both sides inward and place filter on cup.
  3. Start with approximately 140ml (4.7oz) of hot water. Pour in a sufficient amount to cover the ground coffee.
  4. Wait 30 seconds and slowly add remaining water to brim of filter

HACIENDA ALSACIA

The high-quality coffee so many of us love is getting harder and harder to grow, especially for small farmers that make up majority of the world’s producers. They’re dealing with rising production costs, weather change and diseases like coffee rust that can devastate an entire crop.

To better understand these challenges, and how to help these farmers, Starbucks placed itself in their shoes. In 2013, Starbucks bought its first farm: Hacienda Alsacia in Costa Rica.

The mission of this farm isn’t to supply Starbucks with coffee but to help ensure the future of coffee for everyone.

In celebration of our 20th anniversary, we are very much honored to have this Roastery exclusive coffee to share with our partners and customers.

Starbucks Reserve® is the name we give to our rarest small-lot coffees. This holiday season, we’re blending two of them to create an unforgettable cup: Hacienda Alsacia, grown at our very own farm in Costa Rica, and hand-selected aged Sumatra. Both are exceptional in their own right, and both are roasted artfully at our Starbucks Reserve® Roastery and Tasting Room in Seattle. Our master blenders have forged a vibrant, modern expression of the holiday – with savory spice notes and sweet brightness; it is the gift of extraordinary flavor, a celebration of all the season’s beauty.

STARBUCKS RESERVE  ETHIOPIA BITTA FARM

A lighter roast that showcases myriad of flavors in this complex cup. Bright red fruits that are tangy on the tongue unfold to flavors of ripe banana and bittersweet chocolate accents.
