Rufa Mae Quinto came as a big surprise when she appeared in Ipaglaban Mo, ABS CBN’s legal drama. She shunned acting when she married (a non-showbiz guy) and then gave birth to a beautiful daughter. Although the absence from television was her own decision, the hiatus seemed to work to her advantage.
On her initial foray after that long break, Rufa was amazing in the role of Angie who met a tragic death in the hands of her husband in the legal drama.
Friends and critics noticed her maturity as an actor. Although she had been assigned to play comic roles, Rufa was at home with drama.
She keeps a busy schedule but she is not complaining. She is more than thankful for being given the chance to work in an industry that she loves.
She is happy and grateful for all the projects coming her way. Aside from Home Sweetie Home where she is a regular fixture, Pchi (Rufa Mae’s nickname) also joins the cast of Wansapanataym Presents: Jasmin’s Flower Powers starring Janella Salvador and Elmo Magalona.
She is also back in the management fold of Boy Abunda through Asian Artists Agency, Inc. (AAAI). “Ang saya talaga ng feeling to be working again with Tito Boy. I am blessed with a good life. Okay ang married life ko. I have a supportive husband and a beautiful daughter. I am getting back in shape. I am ready to have live shows. Nagpapasalamat ako at hindi naman ako nababakante pagdating sa work kasi may mga offers na dumarating. Kaya todo na ito! You know, kayang-kaya ito ng werpa ko,” says Pchi.
