Clock in some miles. “You can maybe go running on a scenic route or go out walking on a trail,” recommends Gerald. Running can be therapeutic, and doing it with someone makes the experience even better. Pick a nice trail to get you started and set the number of miles you want to reach. Workout together. Gerald also suggests: “Work out together and then have dinner to celebrate after work out,” which isn’t a bad idea at all. In fact, it turns out that couples who sweat together tend to stay together. Studies suggest that couples who exercise together feel happier. An hour or two at the gym will definitely kick up your energy levels and boost your mood in no time.
Have a healthy meal. Instead of having dinner out, why not make a wholesome and tasty meal together? Cooking is a great way to bond with your special someone. Do everything together from picking healthy dishes to shopping for ingredients and cooking. It’s a different kind of bonding that’s sure to forge a deeper connection between the two of you. Want to eat healthy but don’t have the time to prepare? “You could go to an organic restaurant for dinner,” advises Gerald.
Walk and talk. Laidback dates don’t have to mean lazing on the sofa watching TV, you can still enjoy a relaxed time together without being stationary. Taking a leisure walk while having a conversation is a chill way to get to know your date more. Cool down with a fresh smoothie while you’re at it to keep you refreshed. It doesn’t matter where you’re going as long as you’ve got each other’s company.
Gerald’s Tip: “I think a perfect Valentine’s Day gift would be a membership to the gym or a new pair of workout or running shoes.”
