With so many telenovelas being shown on television — most of it showing too much sex and violence — don’t you wish a wholesome and youth-oriented series once more dominates the small screen? I miss the times when I’m still watching ‘Gimik’ at ABS-CBN 2. It’s one of my ‘growing-up’ shows during my teenage years. I was joined by fellow bloggers Florencio Jusay, Ryan Joson-Vargas and couple Ruth and Nonoy Floresca and I got the best front row seat… seating beside controversial teen actress Andi Eigenmann (who’s not wearing make up and looks heavily pregnant)…

Recently attended the red carpet premiere of DEEP GOLD at Resorts World Manila courtesy of Ms. Mae Vecina. Honestly, I never heard about this movie and judging from the picture or the official poster layout, it reminds me of a James Bond 007 films or Blue Crush. And because this is an international film shot entirely in the Philippines, and with Filipino actor Joel Torre in the cast, I decided to watch this movie.

Every Filipino loves Filipinos making it big in the international scene and that includes artists that are half-Pinoy. Take the case of Charice Pempengco, Nicole Scherzinger, Bruno Mars, JabbaWockeeZ, Monique Lhuillier, David “Batista” Bautista, Vanessa Hudgens, Rex Navarrete, Enrique Iglesias, Ramiele Malubay, Thia Megia, to name a few. And no exemption to this is the discovery of an eleven-year-old Filipino-Canadian singer named Maria Aragon who become another famous Youtube sensation for her rendition of Lady Gaga’s “Born This Way.” Her popularity rises more after sharing the stage with Lady Gaga herself at her Toronto concert last March.
