Bloggers Meets ‘My Binondo Girl’ star Kim Chiu!

I was invited yesterday (August 11) to cover the press conference for Kapamilya teen actress Kim Chiu as part of the promo for her upcoming comeback in primetime TV via “My Binondo Girl” held at Choi Restaurant, Greenhills, San Juan.

Although it started late, Kim Chiu was apologetic enough when she arrived but everything was forgotten because we were all mesmerized with her charm. Wearing a skimpy designer outfit and shoes she recently bought at Hong Kong, Kim Chu is a picture of an elegant primetime princess.

Kim Chiu gamely answers questions from the member of the press and bloggers eventhough she was said to be sick and tired because of her hectic schedules. She was all smiles and manages to cheer everyone with her bubbly personality and natural charm.

In an interview, Kim Chiu said that she is very happy to be back on primetime show and was grateful for getting a challenging role she never imagined she will be doing. In “My Binondo Girl”, she plays Jade who is a girl yearning for the love and approval of her Chinese father, Chen Sy (Richard Yap), who eventually changed her identity and pretended as a man under the guise of her dead brother, “Yuan”.

Kim Chiu admits that portraying the role of a man was hard for her because she is known to be too girly but managed to get thru her character with the help of her director, Malou Sevilla. Although she is not paired this time to her long-time love team, Gerald Anderson, she got three (3) of Kapamilya’s promising young actors namely Matteo Gudecelli, Xian Lim and Jolo Revilla  to play as her love interests.

“My Binondo Girl” also features some of the most renowned artists of this country such as Cherry Pie Picache, Lauren Uy, Ricardo Cepeda, Glydel Mercado, Ai Ai Delas Alas who plays as her mother, and Ms. Gina Pareno as her loving grandmother.

Kim Chiu was also kind enough to accommodate group interviews and photo-ops and remains cheerful all through out the press conference. She also reveals in some of her interviews that if she was really a boy(or tomboy)  in real life, she will be courting Angel Locsin, Marian Rivera and Iza Calzado  as she finds all them very pretty.  And if not only because of her commitment with Rejoice shampoo, she is willing to chop her hair short for her role. She also denies having a crush to another fellow Kapamilya star, Sam Milby, and clears that she and Gerald Anderson remains good friends and that they both support each other’s projects. She added that she is very thankful also to Kim-erald fans for their support.
