Puss In Boots
Long before he even met Shrek, the notorious fighter, lover and outlaw Puss in Boots becomes a hero when he sets off on an adventure with the tough and street smart Kitty Softpaws and the mastermind Humpty Dumpty to save his town. This is the true story of The Cat, The Myth, The Legend… The Boots.

Saw the movie premiere of PUSS IN BOOTS last night (October 26) at iMAX in SM North EDSA with fellow bloggers Rod Magaru and Gab Drilon (after attending the album launch of Marie Digby earlier). I anticipated for this spinoff prequel because Puss in Boots is my favorite character from the Sherk movie series. Thank you Solar Entertainment Corporation for the invites.

Although we were placed three rows near the movie screen, I was worried I might not enjoy it because it’s too close to the big screen. But it turned out, it’s more awesome because the 3D effect looks more real up close! The animation is just awesome. And this is definitely much better than other Shrek series (except for the 1st one which is my favorite too).

Although story-wise, it is not really new (I am not familiar with the real fairy tale story of Puss in Boots) and the plot being too predictable, you wont mind it anymore because you’ll just feel in awe with the great animation they provided. Though Puss in Boots is considered an outlaw, the movie explains how he ended as one. And how he redeem himself from the village people where he once lived, and from the woman (a real person) he considered his mother (Puss in Boots is an orphan along with Humpty Alexander Dumpty a.k.a. the Egg voiced by Zach Galifianakis). Puss In Boots also met his love interest thru Kitty Softpaws voiced by Salma Hayek. And their quest? To find the three (3) magical beans and stole the golden eggs laid by the magic geese (again, that’s from another fairy tale “Jake and the Bean Stalk“).

Antonio Banderas is perfect playing Puss in Boots. Although he only lend his voice, it reminds me of his other action films like Assassins, Desperado and most particularly, the Mask of Zorro. Puss in Boots is full of action and cuteness. If you are a fan of cats and own one, you will appreciate this so much because it features a lot of cats! One particular cat that really cracks me up is the pictured below. Remember his face because you will never forget his presence in the movie! Hahahahaha!

Ohhhhhh
Puss In Boots stars Antonio Banderas, Salma Hayek, Zach Galifianakis, Billy Bob Thornton, Amy Sedaris. Directed by  Chris Miller.

I’m loving Puss In Boots. And I highly recommend watching this in 3D because it’w worth it!

“Puss in Boots”  will be shown in theaters on October 28 in iMAX 3D, 2D and regular formats and is released and distributed by  United International Pictures  through  Solar Entertainment Corp.
