Barry Southgate — the Australian Idol Season 2 finalist, has recently launched his digital Christmas single, “O, Holy Night” on iTunes.

O, Holy Night is a favorite Christmas song performed by many notable singers such as Anita Bryant, Mariah Carey, Bing Crosby, Celine Dion, Josh Groban, Whitney Houston, The Lettermen, Il Divo, Christina Aguilera, and Andy Williams, to name a few. This season, it’s the 28-year-old singer/songwriter’s turn in giving a flavorful version of the classic Christmas tune.

Brian McKnight, Eric Benet and Sheila E have all publicly endorsed Barry Southgate’s Christmas single on their Twitter accounts.

Having opened for R&B giants, Brian McKnight, Eric Benet, Joe and K-Ci & JoJo, toured internationally with renowned artist, Darlene Zschech, and multi Grammy Award winner, Israel Houghton, penned songs for artists like Stan Walker – and even sung for the Pope – one thing’s for sure:

Barry Southgate possesses a talent and star quality that is as unmistakable.

Regularly featuring in TV commercials, 2012 sees the multi-faceted artist taking to the silver screen for the first time as an actor, landing a small role in the Golden Globe-tipped, #1 Australian box office hit, The Sapphires.

Adding ‘philanthropist’ to his growing list of skills as well, Barry is an ambassador for the Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation.

After a month-long stint in America, and back in the studio, Southgate currently features on Diafrix’s latest offering,Pocket Full Of Dreams.  The exciting release finds him in stellar company, including 2012′s leading ARIA nominee 360, X-Factor NZ judge Stan Walker, American artist Dwele, and the soulful Daniel Merriweather.
