Esquire Philippines tagged John Lloyd Cruz on their cover as “No More Mr. Nice Guy“. Is this the start of a new image for ABS-CBN‘s matinee idol?
The cover however, looks similar to Esquire Philippines cover for Ely Buendia (published March 2012) and to a US version with Holywood actor Robert Downey, Jr. published just last month (May 2012). Looks like the team of Esquire is running out of ideas for their cover and does not only recycles their concept but also copies their US counterpart (same as what they did with Iza Calzado‘s “Angelina Jolie tribute” cover for Equire Philippines November 2011). Anyway, aside from John Lloyd Cruz, Esquire Philippines pays tribute to a newscaster legend Angelo Castro, Jr. (RIP)… and also features FHM cover girl Sam Pinto.
