I always love romantic movies and one movie that I anticipated to see this year is “The Vow” of Channing Tatum and Rachel McAdams.
I’m a sucker for love stories and some of my top picks are “A Walk To Remember“, “500 First Date“, “500 Days of Summer“, “While You Were Sleeping“, “Serendipity“, “City of Angels“, among others.
Last night (February 13), I watched it with fellow bloggers Ruth Floresca, Gabriel Diaz, Jenner Alagao and Carl Valenzona at Greenbelt 3 cinema. Although we didn’t get the best seat (the last full show is packed), I didn’t mind at all. I am so ready to get all mushy for this film! Hahahaha!
The Vow is a love story inspired by true events. Rachel McAdams and Channing Tatum plays Paige and Leo respectively. They are a happy newlywed couple whose lives are changed by a car accident that puts Paige in a coma. Waking up with severe memory loss, Paige has no memory of Leo, a confusing relationship with her parents (Sam Neill and Jessica Lange), and an ex-fiancé (Scott Speedman) she may still have feelings for. Despite these complications, Leo endeavors to win her heart again and rebuild their marriage.
The movie is so romantic it hurts. And since this is based on true events, I thought to myself, will I do the same thing like what Leo did for Paige? Although it may be fun doing the courtship over again, it was hard if your partner is hesitant to try it again.
The two actors looks cute together and their acting is believable. I love almost all the scene in the movie. And I think the girls will fall madly even more to Channing Tatum because not only did he gave a cool performance, totally romantic, he also stripped and showed his behind. And that particular scene, where Paige saw Leo totally naked is something.
There is so many good scenes from The Vow and although you’d wish it’s longer, and hoped that at the end, Paige will regain her memory, you can’t expect that because again, the movie is based on the love story of real couple Kim and Krickitt Carpenter. Their story has been featured in People, Readers Digest, The New York Times, and on Oprah, CNN, and MTV.
“I chose to stay with him for all the things he’s done right; not the one thing he’s done wrong.”
“I vow to fiercely love you in all your forms, now and forever. I promise to never forget that this is a once in a lifetime love.”
“I vow to help you love life, to always hold you with tenderness, to have the patience that love demands, to speak when words are needed, and to share the silence when they are not, to agree to disagree about red velvet cake, to live within the warmth of your heart, and always call it home.”
“Life’s all about moments of impact, and how they change our lives forever. But what if one day you could no longer remember any of them?”
“How do you look at the one you love and tell yourself it is time to walk away.”
Can a once in a lifetime love find a second chance? For me, YES. “The Vow” is now showing in all theaters distributed by Columbia Pictures, local office of Sony Pictures Releasing International.
