Project Runway Philippines returns with a new host Tweetie de Leon-Gonzales this coming March 25, Sunday, at 8:00 PM exclusively at ETC.

To celebrate its release, ETC launched a party for the show and the chosen 15 up-and-coming designers at the Genting Club in Resorts World Manila last March 20. The event featured the 1st episode of Project Runway Philippines and showcased the actual clothes designed by contestants Ionica Abraham of Manila, Almor Albano of Laoag City, MJ Alimanza from Zambales, Yves Camingue from Cebu City, Nel Claveria from Camarines Sur, Karla Galang from Quezon City, Jenno Guerrero from Nueva Ecija, Enzo Liboon from Bacolod, Joseph Montelibano from Paranaque, Lhenvil Paneda from La Union, Mika Redoble from Pasig, Cheetah Rivera from Manila, and Normanie Santos from Bulacan.

Joining Tweetie de Leon-Gonzales are the show’s original mentor Jojie Lloren and judges Rajo Laurel and Apples Aberin, who will use their extensive expertise in the field of fashion to guide the new contestants through weekly challenges set to test their final collection to top industry insiders.

Here are Orange Magazine TV’s photo coverage from the Launch Party:

Base on what we’ve seen from the first episode, the show gave a promising start and the fifteen new contestants seems like a big riot with their individual personality. It’s also hilarious in a way but of course, when it comes to fashion designing, everyone gave their best.

So far, my personal bets are Joseph Montelibano, MJ Alimanza, Nel Claveria, and Jenno Guerrero. Their designs stands out. The rest are okay though. And I am looking forward seeing their collections each episodes.

My only concern though is the shows’ choice of models to showcase the designer’s creations. Like what one of the contestant said in an interview, most of the models didn’t give enough justice in wearing their collection, and some of the models actually doesn’t look like models at all. Hopefully, as the show progresses, they can pick some decent models for the show.

This Season’s victorious winner will receive half-a-million pesos in prize money; Php 100,000.00 worth of cash and beauty products from Pond’s; a fashion spread featuring their final collection in Mega Magazine; a brand new Intuos4 Wacom pen tablet and a full-4-year fashion design and technology scholarship from iAcademy; sewing machines worth Php 300,000.00 from Brother International; and an all-expensive paid trip to Paris to experience Fashion Week courtesy of L’Oreal Paris.

Project Runway Philippines is presented by L’Oreal Paris, Pond’s Age Miracle, and in partnership with Mega Magazine and iAcademy.

Project Runway Philippines premieres March 25, Sunday at 8:00 PM on ETC.
