Discovered this Twitter application where you can check how many fake followers you have. And you can even check other accounts too!
Introducing Twitter Audit. Each audit takes a random sample of 5000 Twitter followers for a user and calculates a score for each follower. This score is based on number of tweets, date of the last tweet, and ratio of followers to friends. Twitter Audit use these scores to determine whether any given user is real or fake. But according to them, this scoring method is not perfect but it is a good way to tell if someone with lots of followers is likely to have increased their follower count by inorganic, fraudulent, or dishonest means. Also, TwitterAudit claims they are not affiliated with Twitter in any way.
And as I experiment on it, I discovered a lot of well-known celebrities and personalities with lots of “fake” followers. I tried the twitter apps to JV Ejercito, Anne Curtis-Smith, Tim Yap, Justin Bieber, President Noynoy Aquino, Pope Benedict XVI, Senator Gringo Honasan, Bench, Vice Ganda, Fashion Pulis, to know a few. Check out the result below:
Based on the color coding, red means FAKE, Yellow means NOT SURE, and Green means REAL.
