Hunk actor-singer Aljur Abrenica earlier filed a complaint for judicial confirmation of rescission of contract against his home network, GMA 7.
The former “Machete” star cited differences in “artistic direction” on why he wanted to cut his contract with GMA Network which will expire in 2017.
In an interview with reporters (as quoted by Yahoo Philippines), Aljur Abrenica said: “Ayaw ko po talagang umabot sa ganito.
Marami tayong gustong tulungan at marating.
Aljur Abrenica said he has not received offers yet from other networks, including rumors of a possible management at Backroom, Inc. of Boy Abunda, but said he wants to pursue other things that are not in the plans of GMA 7.
In a report published at news tabloid Bandera, Aljur Abrenica revealed some of the reasons why he wants to be out from his home network of eight years.
I note down the things na gusto kong gawin – movies, TV shows, recording, concerts. They want to package me otherwise.”
Despite having trouble with GMA 7, Aljur said he remains grateful to GMA. In 2006, he won the “Ultimate Hunk” title in the reality talent search “Starstruck“, did several teleserye and movies, an album under GMA Records, a concert, endorsements like Centuty Tuna Hotdog, Bench, Kopiko Cafe Blanca, among others. His last project with GMA 7 was “Kambal Sirena” opposite Louise delos Reyes.
Meanwhile, GMA-7 said it has yet to receive a copy of the complaint and issued this statement instead:
“GMA Network has not yet received a copy of the complaint filed by Mr.Aljur Abrenica. A statement will be issued when we have received and reviewed the contents of the complaint,” Felipe Gozon, chairman and Chief Executive Officer of GMA Network, said in a statement.
