“Not because you’re hurt, it means you’re broken.” – Dolphin Tale
True enough, this movie talks about hope, courage and second chances.
Warner Bros. Pictures‘ latest family adventure “Dolphin Tale” is inspired by the amazing true story of a brave dolphin named “Winter” and the compassionate strangers who banded together to save her life.
Dolphin Tale is the story of a young dolphin caught in a crab trap and severely damaged her tail. Although she is rescued and transported to the Clearwater Marine Hospital, her fight for survival has just begun.
Winter serves as a symbol of courage, perseverance and hope to millions of people-both able and disabled-who have been touched by her remarkable story of recovery and rehabilitation.
Thanks to sir Jay Gonzales for the invitation to watch this inspiring movie along with my fellow movie bloggers at Glorietta 4 in Ayala Malls, Makati.
Heard a lot of good reviews about Dolphin Tale and watching it is not actually hard to appreciate. I am pretty sure kids and even kids at heart will love this movie.
For one, it stars an adorable and intelligent dolphin, who happens to play as herself as well in this movie. And her story, with no tail, is not just heartbreaking but also, something you can relate with. If Winter managed to survive life without a tail, what more for a man who’s more capable compared to any animals. Aside from Winter, it also features a young boy, whose life changed after meeting Winter. How an aloof boy becomes sociable because of his love and care for the young dolphin.
There are scenes that I did sniffed a little because it will really touch your heart. It’s hard not to shed a tear simply because you know this based on a true story and the dolphin is really real. It’s also nice that the movie also showed actual footages of Winter’s rescue after the movie credits so do stayed to capture what really happens.
Here’s a video I found in Youtube showing Winter’s photos and a little backgrounder of her real story:
“Dolphin Tale” is directed by Charles Martin Smith from a screenplay by Karen Janszen and Noam Dromi.
Now showing in Philippines theatres in 3D and regular format, “Dolphin Tale” is distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures, a Warner Bros. Entertainment Company.
