My recent trip to Taiwan (and my first time) was a revelation. As I stepped off the plane, I was immediately captivated by the island’s vibrant energy and stunning scenery. From Taipei’s bustling metropolis to Yilan’s serene landscapes, Taiwan offers a diverse and unforgettable experience.
One of the highlights of my trip was exploring the iconic Taipei 101. Although we didn’t get to go on top of this towering skyscraper, I am still awestruck by this tower/building. I also wandered through the vibrant Xinyi District, indulging in delicious Taiwanese cuisine and discovering hidden gems like trendy boutiques and art galleries.
After a day of sightseeing, I would retreat to the comfort of Buotech Jiantan Hotel, a charming oasis in the heart of Taipei. The friendly staff and cozy atmosphere made me feel right at home.
To taste traditional Taiwanese culture, I visited the bustling night markets. Shilin Night Market was a sensory overload, with its tantalizing aromas and vibrant atmosphere. I tried a variety of local delicacies, from stinky tofu to bubble tea, and I couldn’t get enough of the lively energy.
I also ventured to the historic districts of Dihua Old Street and Dadaocheng, where I explored traditional Chinese medicine shops and tea houses. It was like stepping back in time.
For a more serene experience, I visited Jiufen Old Street, a picturesque village nestled in the mountains. The charming alleyways, lantern-lit teahouses, and breathtaking views made it a truly magical place.
My trip to Taiwan was more than any other visit; it was a transformative experience. I loved the island’s friendly people, rich culture, and stunning landscapes. I can’t wait to return and explore more of this incredible country.
