Most pharmacies nowadays sell alternative medicines, many of which are widely advertised but offer no clear therapeutic value. Thankfully, medicines made from lagundi leaves are the exact opposite.

A wild shrub that grows in the Philippines, lagundi (Vitex negundo) is easily recognizable because of its leaf, which is made up of five smaller leaflets. It has been effectively used as a herbal medicine in treating cough and colds and in relieving asthma, rheumatism and even skin diseases like boils.

Lagundi has been found to have phytochemical properties that make it an anti-inflammatory, anti-microbial and analgesic agent that helps in respiratory disorders.
