Christmas might have just come early for kids with the availability of a free new mobile app from the number one kids’ channel, Cartoon Network. CN Watch and Play, an innovative app that allows kids to watch video from their favorite animation TV series and play games from Cartoon Network’s website at the same time, is now available for iPad users through the App Store.
CN Watch and Play comes loaded with hundreds of clips, including episodes from the network’s most popular shows such as Adventure Time, Regular Show, Ben 10 and The Amazing World of Gumball. Vintage Cartoon Network titles such as Johnny Bravo, Cow and Chicken and Thundercats also give younger parents a throwback treat.
The app includes a stack of new and exciting games such as Karate Wieners and Primus Overide. Users can collect “DNA” reward points for using the app, which they can use to unlock collectible character cards.
Beyond the rich content, the beauty of the app is in the way it is designed for today’s tech savvy kids. With a simple rotation of the iPad, users can switch between the Watch and Play tasks – allowing them to instantaneously and interchangeably play an Adventure Time game or watch The Amazing World of Gumball, full-screen. For families with more than one child, CN Watch and Play’s feature that allows video and games to be played at the same time on one screen transforms the iPad into a “tablet for two” – possibly allowing for a more peaceful gadget-sharing experience for siblings.
CN Watch and Play is currently available in English and through the App Store for iPads (Generation 2 and above), with an Android version also in development. The app requires an internet connection.
