12 Chairs by Entrepreneur Chef David Laris has made it into Asia’s top 500 finest restaurants in The Miele Guide.
The Miele Guide was created in 2008 in order to better recognize and celebrate Asia’s best chefs and restaurants.
Opened in 2010, 12 Chairs has been a regular destination among the gastronomes of Shanghai and around the world. The 12 Chairs menu is an ever-evolving collection of innovative dishes created by David Laris himself, which reflects his signature style, said “At the moment, my career involves many business aspects. Stepping into the 12 Chairs kitchen enables me get into my element and let my creativity flow. I feel a strong connection with the 12 Chairs menu.”
12 Chairs by David Laris is a premium dining concept that focuses on the return to the pleasure of eating. In the most luxurious of settings, guests enjoy an intimate dining experience featuring a multiple-course degustation menu in David Laris’ signature fine dining style. David and his international team of chefs prepare all dishes from the mini finishing kitchen located within the room. 12 Chairs also features one of the most exclusive wine collections in Shanghai. Aside from the 2013 Miele Guide recognition, 12 Chairs also bagged the 2011 That’s Shanghai Food & Drink Awards for Best Fine Dining, and the 2011-2012 Modern Weekly for Best Restaurants Selection.
David Laris started his love affair with food at an early age and soon found himself talking on a classic French apprenticeship in Sydney, Australia. Using this as a foundation, he subsequently helped revolutionize full-flavored contemporary fine dining by blending different flavors and styles that he had encountered from extensive travel and work that took him to the Far East, specifically Macau, Hong Kong, and Hanoi.
His previous restaurant Laris, at 3 on the Bund, had also been awarded in the Miele Guide in 2010.
Located at the Sinan Mansions, 12 Chairs offers premium-dining experience for all its customers. A multiple course tasting menu is available in which David cooks for you personally during this dining experience. David and his international team of chefs prepare all dishes from the mini-finishing kitchen located within the room.
