Director Chris Wedge (Ice Age) returns with “Epic,” his latest animated fantasy about a young girl who discovers a battle between good and evil based on the book “The Leafmen and the Brave Good Bugs” by William Joyce. Starring the voices of Amanda Seyfried, Colin Farrell, Jason Sudeikis, Beyonce Knowles, Josh Hurcherson and Christoph Waltz.
Amanda Seyfried stars as Mary Katherine, a teenage girl who discovers a magical world in the forest where a massive battle is being waged between good and evil forces. Mary’s eccentric dad (Jason Sudeikis) is convinced that pint-sized leaf men and similar fantastical creatures reside in the depths of a nearby forest. He turns out to be correct, but is unaware that Mary is magically shrunk down to their size and becomes embroiled in an ongoing battle of gigantic proportions to save the mystical lush kingdom.
“Epic” will open May 24 in theaters nationwide from 20th Century Fox to be distributed by Warner Bros.
