As part of its continuing efforts to upgrade its level of service to its growing number of customers, Laguna Water partners with several financial institutions to make payment of water bills more convenient. With Bayad Center, BPI, Globe Telecom, SM Malls, LBC and Metro Bank, customers may now settle their water bills through various financial service merchants personally or via ATM, online banking and even mobile phones.
Prior to the arrival of Laguna Water in the last quarter of 2009, customers were limited to paying their bills through the collection offices of the previous water provider. As there were very few payment facilities during that time that could cater to the thousands of customers, queues were oftentimes very long and many customers needed to travel far that would entail additional expense for their fares. Such conditions often discouraged on time payment and problems related to accumulation of unpaid bills were thus common.
The shift from the old bills payment scheme to the present system is thus a welcome development to Laguna Water Customers. Even with this, the Company is continuously looking for additional service providers, and encouraging existing ones to develop systems that will provide more convenience and flexibility for customers. Among the many options that the Company is looking at for the near future is an arrangement that will allow customers to pay bills not only inside the concession area, but anywhere else in the country.
Laguna Water is a joint venture company between the Provincial Government of Laguna (PGL) and AAAWater Corporation, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Manila Water. Its service area covers the cities of Biñan, Cabuyao and Santa Rosa.
