The TELUS International Philippines (TIP) Community Board continues to serve as an inspiring model of philanthropy and is proud to announce funding for three more local charities, highlighting the organization’s commitment to nation-building.

The board was officially launched February last year with the objective of donating Php 4 million (CAD $100,000) annually to charitable organizations that focus on three specific areas: health and wellness, education and sports and arts and culture. The recent recipients of the TIP Community Board funding are Tahanan Sta. Lucia Inc., MLAC Psychosocial Services for Well-being and Tuason Development Foundation Inc., bringing the total number of the community board’s grantees to 10.  Javier Infante, chairman of the TIP Community Board, led the formal turnover of the grants to representatives of the three local charities at the Makati Shangri-la Hotel, Makati City last March 6.

“We feel extremely fortunate to have come across a passionate and selfless organization like TELUS. Rarely do you see a company pour an extraordinary amount of time, money, and effort into corporate social responsibility. Even rarer is a company that does so on a consistent basis. We’re deeply grateful to the TELUS team for helping us move closer towards our goals,” says Mercy Cabrillas, center director of Tahanan Sta. Lucia Inc.

“We are full of gratitude to be the recipient of the TELUS International Philippines Community Board.  The grant will help us to empower the new generation of students as their schools will now be provided with internet connectivity for their computer based training in Tagum, Davao del Norte,” states Denise Celdran, executive director of Tuason Development Foundation Inc.

“Here at TELUS, we truly believe that what we do for the community is a reflection of who we are as an organization. We’ve already made a significant impact on 10 worthy foundations, and we are enthusiastically looking forward to finding more allies who share the same passion for corporate social responsibility as we do,” declares TIP President Jeffrey Uthoff.

Fourteen TELUS Community Boards distribute more than Php 200 million (CAD $5.3 million) a year to community projects around the globe. Since their inception in 2005, TELUS Community Boards have contributed more than Php 1.4 billion (CAD $35.75 million) and supported more than 2,800 community projects.
