Waterfront Pavilion Hotel and Casino Manila, a subsidiary of Waterfront Philippines Inc., donated truckloads of blankets, linens, comforters, pillows, clothes and footwear to the victims of the recent earthquake in Bohol and Cebu.
The 7.2 magnitude earthquake that hit Central Visayas last October 16, affected over 3.2 million people in Bohol and Cebu. Casualties are continuously rising while figures of the homeless families are at a growing rate as well.
In response to the needs of the victims, the management of Waterfront Pavilion Hotel and Casino Manila initiated a donation campaign and encouraged its employees to lend a helping hand by giving out aids that will be sent to Bohol and Cebu through the Sagip Kapamilya of the ABS-CBN Foundation.
Over Php250,000 worth of non-food essentials were gathered by the Hotel packed in hundreds of boxes of which may be used by the survivors for their temporary shelter and sleeping comforts.
“It is heartbreaking to see and hear all over the news the tragic situation of the people in Bohol and Cebu who are in dire need of help because of the recent catastrophe. We are sending our deepest sympathy to the families of those who were killed, injured and cannot be found,” urged Christopher Park, Waterfront Pavilion Hotel and Casino Manila General Manager.
