List of 2014 Legal Holidays In The Philippines

Based on Proclamation No. 655 signed by President Benigno Aquino III last September 25, 2013, there will be 10 regular holidays and eight special non-working days in the Philippines this 2014.

Regular holidays for 2014 are as follows: January 1, Wednesday (New Year’s Day); April 9, Wednesday (Araw ng Kagitingan); April 17, Maundy Thursday; April 18, Good Friday; May 1, Thursday (Labor Day); June 12, Thursday (Independence Day);August 25, Monday (National Heroes’ Day); November 30, Sunday (Bonifacio Day); December 25, Thursday (Christmas Day); and December 30, Tuesday (Rizal Day).

Special non-working days includes January 31, Friday (Chinese New Year); April 19, Black Saturday; August 21, Thursday (Ninoy Aquino Day); November 1, Saturday (All Saints’ Day); December 24, Wednesday (Christmas Eve); December 26, Friday; and Decembe 31, Wednesday (New Year’s Eve).

February 25, Tuesday, shall also be a special holiday for all schools in commemoration of the EDSA People Power Revolution.

The observance of Eid’l Fitr and Eid’l Adha, on the other hand, shall be issued after the approximate dates of the Islamic holidays have been determined in accordance with the Islamic calendar (Hijra) or the lunar calendar, or upon Islamic astronomical calculations, whichever is possible or convenient.
