Globe Telecom’s Project Wonderful garners global awareness with SUITS star Gabriel Macht’s recent guesting on The Queen Latifah Show.
In his interview with host Queen Latifah, Gabriel Macht showcased his visit to Ormoc, Leyte to help fulfill the telco’s commitment of building a wonderful and resilient Philippines under Project Wonderful nation-building efforts by providing sustainable livelihood opportunities to Typhoon Haiyan survivors.
Gabriel Macht’s worthwhile visit in Ormoc was highlighted by a ceremonial rebuilding and reconstruction of a sari-sari store which has been granted a Globe Autoload Max (AMAX) prepaid reloading business in partnership with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) under its Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP).
Present to welcome Gabriel Macht was Leyte 4th District Congresswoman Lucy Torres-Gomez who also toured the international celebrity around Ormoc.
“I went to Ormoc to visit the devastation of typhoon Yolanda, and I was working with [a mobile company called] Globe Telecom where they encouraged small business owners to be entrepreneurs. So there are these little stores called sari-sari stores, and we give them access to prepaid phone cards, and then they give access to the people around. It’s small owners, small businesses, in creating more opportunities for them, it was really cool. And it’s great in that we’re not just throwing at the problem, we’re giving them a leg up to help themselves,” said Gabriel Macht in the interview.
