We are the disciples of design.
We are the gurus of game and the paragons of play.
We create, we inspire, we educate.
We are the representatives of the youth and tomorrow.
We are iACADEMY students.
Our legacy begins here.
Following in the footsteps of their mentors, two groups of iACADEMY students have entered into the FINAL round of Microsoft Philippines‘ 12th Imagine Cup competition.
Imagine Cup is a globally recognized, world class technology competition designed for student participants. The competition provides students with a venue, an opportunity and a platform to freely express their ideas and manifest their ability and knowledge by harnessing new-world technology through the creation of applications, games and solutions that address real-world issues.
Passing their torch to the next generation, Ms. KC Arabit and Mr. Alvin Uy, iACADEMY alumni, part-time faculty members and Imagine Cup veterans, lent their expertise and experience to the current batch of iACADEMY students.
Ms. Arabit’s team, Full Sails, unveiled Furbs, a game where players solve world issues through various mini-games while counting on the support of a collection of fluffy creatures which the game was named after. Team members include: Charles Frederic Atienza (Game Development Student), Jose Paolo Padilla (Software Engineering Student), Brendo Toledo (Software Engineering Student), Renee Jason Jover (Software Engineering Student).
Not to be out-classed, Mr. Uy’s, Team Lemniscate coined the game Subject of Change, a 3D simulator similar to the popular game Sim City, where players are empowered to build and manage a city of thier very own. Team members include: Carl Michael Zamora (Game Development Student), Lawrence Victor Zarasate (Game Development Student), Chrysia Wayan (Game Development Student), Elaine Monica Luna (Game Development Student).
