February will see the country commemorating important event: the 28th Anniversary of EDSA People Power Revolution.
To underscore the importance of EDSA revolution, K Channel will air EDSAngangdaan, The EDSA Stories, and Lakas Sambayanan. EDSAngangdaan: The EDSA Stories Film Festival is a compilation of short films that paint a broad canvas of Philippine society and history in relation to the three EDSA uprisings over the years. These are stories of mothers and wives of the rebelling soldiers in EDSA; stories of farmers, politicians and street children; and stories of ordinary lives in extraordinary circumstances. The film festival presents all these vital stories with the aim of furthering social and historical education, and of turning cinema into a vehicle for socio-political change.
You can also have a face-to-face with historic figures of EDSA revolution through The EDSA Stories, a Focus on the Global South production that will also air in K Channel this month. Also watch for Lakas Sambayanan, a two-hour compelling documentary about the historical People Power Revolution that is produced & directed by the award-winning documentarist Butch Nolasco, written by award-winning scriptwriter Jose Pete Lacaba, and narrated by multi-awarded actor Cesar Montano, which will air on February 22-26.
