Laguna Water now holds the water assets of Laguna Technopark, Inc. (LTI), making it the exclusive water service provider of the premier industrial park located in Southern Luzon beginning on the first day of 2014. To reinforce its aim to be a strategic partner of the provincial government in making Laguna the best place to live in, visit and invest in, the utility provider ensures the implementation of water supply reliability and sustainability in LTI.
Situated inside the concession area of Laguna Water, Laguna Technopark, Inc. is home to over 220 local and global light to medium companies in the electronics, automotive, home appliances, pharmaceutical and other industries. Key locators found in LTI include Amkor, Sunpower Phils., Hoya Glass, Hitachi, Fujitsu, Nidec Phils, Terumo, Toshiba, Isuzu, Honda, among others.
According to Melvin Tan, General Manager of Laguna Water, this acquisition is significant in fulfilling Laguna Water’s goal of propelling the province’s investment viability. “Aware of LTI’s 20 percent contribution to the country’s national export, we put it upon ourselves to support its continuous development by delivering its water needs with efficiency and consistency” says Melvin Tan.
Tan adds that this also emphasizes the competency of the subsidiaries of its mother company, Manila Water, to provide sustainable water supply to major players from the local and international industrial and business realm. Together with its subsidiary in the North – Clark Water, which services the Clark Special Economic Zone, Manila Water is now the exclusive water service provider of the biggest and largest international manufacturers in the Asian region.
Laguna Water is a joint venture company between the Provincial Government of Laguna (PGL) and Laguna AAAWater Corporation, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Manila Water. Its concession area covers the cities of Biñan, Santa Rosa and Cabuyao.
