According tothe Environmental Management Bureau of the Department of the Natural Resources (EMB-DENR) National Director Juan Miguel Cunaefforts on “community education on the importance of water and the proper preservation of water resources is a mission performed in collaboration of different sectors”.

“Learning the reason why one needs to be involved and how to be involved are primary steps in reviving the Philippine waters” Cuna adds.

Ferdinand dela Cruz, President of Manila Water Foundation shares thatthis approach will empower communities by putting the part of the solution in the hands of people. “Health strains and other challenges brought by the lack of water and proper sanitation affect many. Instilling the value of clean and safe water, and recognizing the means by which each may contribute to this are critical in reaching sustainable solutions,”said dela Cruz.
