Celebrations for the Lunar New Year are already underway at the Grande Dame.
Guests can look forward to a full list of activities that usher in the Year of the Wooden Horse, bringing prosperity, luck and joy to their lives. From the familiar red ang pao envelopes to the ritual dragon and lion dances, guests can look forward to celebrating 2014 in spectacular fashion.
The experience begins with the interactive display of Chinese imperial horses at the Grand Lobby, that can serve as the backdrop for precious memories with family and friends. At the Grand Lobby, our Prosperity Booth will feature a selection of specially-made nian giao (tikoy) bars that may be gifted to loved ones in time for the holiday. Guests can also send their wishes and good intentions for the New Year by writing them down and hanging them on our peach tree.
Patrons can visit the Hotel from January 31 to February 2 to take part in the revelry for Chinese New Year weekend. On January 31 (Friday), guests can witness the traditional dragon and lion dances at the Grand Lobby starting 9:00AM. Known Feng Shui master Vittorio Chao will lead a special blessing ceremony at 10:30AM, also at the Grand Lobby.
