ABS-CBN, through its Integrated Public Service (IPS) and ABS-CBN Linkgod Kapamilya Foundation, Inc. (ALKFI) – Sagip Kapamilya responded to the call to help the victims of typhoon “Lando” that decimated central and northern Luzon during its four-day stay.

As of October 28, ALKFI has reported that their Sagip Kapamilya program has reached out to 17,577 families and invidivduals that are numbering close to 87,885. Sagip Kapamilya volunteers have been hard at work, making their presence felt in the regions of Bulacan, Aurora, Cagayan, and the hardest hit areas in Nueva Ecija, Pampanga, and Pangasinan.

“It is with pleasure that we report to our stakeholders and donors what has happened to the donations they have been directing to us and we haven’t stopped with our relief efforts,” ABS-CBN IPS head Jerry Bennett said.

“Right now, we are planning to do livelihood interventions for the farmers whose crops have been devastated by the typhoon. It came at such a time where the harvest was almost near and this is our way of helping them get back on their feet,” Bennett added.

Bennett is grateful that the Kapamilya shows also organized a fund drive via the “Show The Love” campaign wherein celebrities went to various establishments to personally ask for donations for this cause.
