Officials and members of the Ayala Sustainability Council, a group of sustainability advocates from Ayala’s various subsidiaries, went for a Nature Walk at the La Mesa Watershed area with employees from East Zone concessionaire Manila Water.
Participants of the Nature Walk, all staunch supporters of sustainability practices representing Ayala Corporation, Ayala Land, Globe Telecommunications, Integrated Micro-Electronics and Ayala Foundation, traversed the 3.5-kilometer path to learn more about the value of the watershed in the provision of water supply for Metro Manila.
Also joining the activity are representatives from Manila Water Scoopers, Bonar Laureto of Philippine Business for the Environment and Phillip Fullon of Global Footprint Network.
The Ayala Sustainability Council brings together sustainability advocates from its various subsidiaries to synergize future activities to strengthen the sustainability programs across the Ayala Group. These programs are captured in the 2014 Sustainability Report, an annual conglomerate-wide report on all the sustainability initiatives and impacts of the Ayala Group.
Manila Water is the private concessionaire of the Metropolitan Waterworks and Sewerage System providing water and used water services to portions of Quezon City and Manila, Mandaluyong, San Juan, Taguig, Makati, Pateros, Marikina, Pasig and several towns of Rizal Province.
