In a new interview clip published on Billboard.com, Demi Lovato speaks candidly about the empowering message of her latest single, “Confident.” ‘The pre-chorus says it best, where it says, ‘You’ve had me underrated.’ I’ve wanted to shout that from the top of my lungs for years now,” she says. “I have never been confident enough in my own skin to feel sexy,” Lovato admits. “Now that I’m feeling great and I feel confident, I’m proud of the skin that I’m in.” “I’ve been wanting to share that with the world and showing everyone how you can go from being very insecure with body image issues to feeling so proud of your body that you want to show it to the world,” she continues.
Just off the heels of an epic return with #1 iTunes single “Cool for the Summer,” multi-platinum selling recording artist Demi Lovato has no plans to cool down as she swings into the fall season with a release date of October 16 for her much-anticipated fifth studio album, ‘CONFIDENT’. Standard and Deluxe versions of the album, featuring production by Max Martin, Ryan Tedder, Steve Mac, Jason Evigan, Wolf Cousins, Savan Kotecha, and Stargate, are available for pre-order at midnight tonight via all digital retailers.
