Award-winning actor and host Derek Ramsay ended all speculations that he will leave his home network as he renewed his contract for another 3 years with TV5 last April 28.
“I am happy to start another contract with TV5 and to continue working with the Network that has been more than great to me,” said the TV5 prime hunk.
Undeniably one of the biggest stars of the Happy Network, Derek Ramsay revealed that TV5 has a lot of projects in store for him this 2015. His comedy sitcom Mac & Chiz with Empoy which airs every Sunday at 7:00PM, has recently been extended, while his action-packed adventure-reality program Extreme Series: Kaya Mo Ba ‘To? will have another season, further strengthening TV5’s weekend programming.
Derek Ramsay started his journey with TV5 back in 2012 and, since then, the experience has been mutually amazing for both parties. He began as the host and race master of TV5’s most ambitious project, the Philippine version of the world’s most popular and most expensive reality show franchise, The Amazing Race. The Kapatid prime actor also wowed viwers with his notable portrayal of TV5’s first original superhero, Kidlat. He also made waves when he starred as a cop-turned-vigilante in TV5’s first-ever aksyon-serye, Undercover, before moving the audiences in his controversial roles along with ageless beauty Alice Dixson and virgin bombshell Ritz Azul in For Love Or Money and with Angel Aquino in Studio5 Original Movies’ made-for-TV film Bawat Sandali. Before 2014 ended, Derek Ramsay returned as the race master and host of the second season of The Amazing Race Philippines.
2014 also proved to be a pivotal year in Derek’s acting career when he bagged the MMFF Best Actor award for his romantic-comedy role with Jennylyn Mercado in the film fest movie English Only Please.
Present in the contract signing were TV5 President and CEO Noel C. Lorenzana, Chief Entertainment Content Officer Wilma V. Galvante.
