This month, Dulce returns to the stage to share the gift that catapulted her to become one of the Philippines’ greatest divas her voice.
The two-night musical extravaganza at the Music Museum on September 18 and 19 promises to captivate audiences with Dulce’s incomparable vocal prowess and charismatic stage presence. Expect to be electrified with her deep and velvety tone giving life to an array of classic songs from a number of great divas in history.
Dubbed as Dulce…The Timeless Diva, the concert is also a celebration of her 40 years in the music industry. Through meticulously cooked up musical numbers, Dulce will take us through her inspiring journey to stardom replete with many high and lows.
The Cebuana songstress is a living testament that great things come to those who work hard to achieve their dreams. After joining many amateur singing contests at a young age, she finally found her break in the limelight when she won Tawag ng Tanghalan in 1975. After which, Dulce went on to winning various international singing contests, most notably the 4th Asian Singing Competition in Hong Kong in 1979 where she wowed the world with her rendition of an entry that ultimately became her signature song, “Ako ang Nasawi, Ako ang Nagwagi”. These accolades did not only open opportunities for Dulce to perform in many platforms from stage concerts to theater, but they also brought immense pride to the Philippines. Until today, she remains as one of the greatest OPM singers gifted with an extraordinary vocal range that can soar to airy heights at full throttle with such incredible precision and emotion.
