On March 12, in a role filled with hopes and dreams, Will Ferrell visited five different spring training ballparks in Arizona, for Ferrel Takes The Field, an HBO special from Funny Or Die, in partnership with Major League Baseball. Dedicating the special to the fight against cancer, Ferrell also honored the historic feat of Bert Campaneris five decades ago by playing every position on the field for ten different teams in the same day.
Ferrell’s goal was to honor “Campy” Campaneris while also helping organizations dedicated to fighting cancer, including Cancer for College. Formed in 1993, Cancer for College is a charity that helps individuals adversely affected by cancer to realize their dream of a college education.
An important part of the fundraising efforts is game-used memorabilia from Ferrell’s journey across the five ballparks, to be auctioned at MLB.com with proceeds being donated to Cancer for College, as well as Stand Up To Cancer, a groundbreaking initiative created to accelerate innovative cancer research. MLB is the founding donor to Stand Up To Cancer.
As one of the funniest, freshest faces on television and film, Amy Schumer is dominating the world of comedy with her unique blend of honesty and unapologetic sense of humour.
Directed by Chris Rock and taped on May 29 before a live audience at New York’s iconic Apollo Theater, Schumer talks about her life in her first HBO stand-up comedy special.
Amy Schumer is the creator, star, writer and executive producer of the Peabody Award- and Emmy®-winning series “Inside Amy Schumer,” and also won a Critics’ Choice Television Award for the series this year. Schumer was recently seen in the feature film “Trainwreck,” which she wrote and stars in. Her one-hour stand-up special, “Mostly Sex Stuff,” stands as the highest-rated Comedy Central original stand-up special since 2011. Schumer’s other credits include “Louie,” “Delocated” and HBO’s “Girls” and “Curb Your Enthusiasm.” Chris Rock directed and starred in the critically acclaimed film “Top Five.”
