“Building a strong sense of nationhood should begin with all of us. The HERO Foundation commends the movie “Heneral Luna” for taking big steps in instilling a strong sense of patriotism among our youth, and educating them anew about the selflessness and gallantry of our unsung heroes,” remarks former AFP Chief of Staff and HERO Foundation co-founder/vice-chairman Gen. Renato de Villa, AFP (Ret).
In keeping with the movie’s objective of rekindling a deeper sense of appreciation for Filipino history and culture, “Heneral Luna” also hopes to inspire critical thinking and incite cultural reawakening, as well as nurture a new generation of Filipino heroes among today’s youth.
