McDonald’s Philippines once again took part in Earth Hour, the largest recurring environmental movement in history.
With its beginnings in 2007 as a lights-off event to raise awareness for climate change, Earth Hour is now practiced in more than 160 countries worldwide, of which the Philippines has consecutively had one of the biggest participation. More than just a symbolic event, the campaign has resulted in concrete actions in climate change mitigation and adaptation over the years.
This year, McDonald’s stores switched-off all pylon and external signage lights from 8:30-9:30 PM last March 28 in support of Earth Hour. McDonald’s annual participation is its way of strengthening its commitment to the community, making a difference not only in the lives of its customers but also for the conservation of the environment.
