Nissan Philippines, Inc. (NPI) recently donated P110,000.00, gathered from different Nissan dealerships nationwide, to support the daily needs of the residents and the maintenance of facilities of San Lorenzo Ruiz Home for the Elderly, an organization operated by the Little Sisters of the Poor. The donation was handed by Mr. Antonio Zara, President and Managing Director of NPI and was received by Sr. Cecilia Emmanuel, OIC of outreach activity and donation accounts.
This initiative took place as a form of an outreach activity participated by NPI employees whose birthdates fall on the last quarter of the year.
According to Zara, “When we started our operations in the Philippines, as the sole national sales company of the Nissan brand, our mission was not just to grow the business; we also wanted to participate in nation-building. Reaching out to San Lorenzo Ruiz community is a great start as we move towards solidifying our efforts to help more individuals, communities, and institutions.”
Since it has started its operations, NPI has launched two global sedans namely the Sylphy and Altima early in 2014. This was followed up by the highly anticipated and award-winning X-Trail which was launched in September.
“Just like our products, we to wanted give the San Lorenzo community the feeling of security and comfort,” added Zara.
The San Lorenzo Ruiz Home for the Elderly started on December 17, 2005 and now accommodates 42 residents.
Zara also added that they will still continue to support the institution in the coming years.
