Eastbourne pop punks ROAM revealed a second song ’Hopeless Case’ along with accompanying music video, which they shot in Las Vegas and surrounding areas during their current US co-headline tour with Handguns. ‘Hopeless Case’ is from their debut album ‘Backbone’ via Hopeless Records, which will be released on 22nd January, 2016.
Alex Adam (Guitar/Vocals) explains the clip – “The idea behind the Hopeless Case video was really a play on the chorus lyrics “You lose this time” – we thought it’d be fun to shoot a backroom style poker game and incorporate footage from Vegas and the surrounding desert. The song is really about false pretenses. Once we’d decided on our characters we went all out on the costumes and just had fun with it. The desert scenes were actually shot in a place called Fire Valley national park on top of a natural arch which was definitely a highlight.”
‘Backbone’ follows ROAM’s ‘Viewpoint’ EP which was released earlier in 2015. The album was produced, engineered and mixed by Drew Lawson at Steel City Studios with additional engineering by Phil Gornell and mastering by Grant Berry. Rian Dawson of All Time Low recorded Matt Wilson’s guest vocal part at his studio in California. The first single to be unveiled from the record was the rabble-rousing ‘Deadweight’ for which came with an epic music video.
Backbone is now available for pre-order here: smarturl.it/Backbone.
ROAM is composed of lead vocalist Alex Costello, vocalist and guitarist Alex Adam, guitarist Sam Veness, bassist Matt Roskilly and drummer Charlie Pearson.
