After the band’s most catchy, foot-tapping songs that kept the moshpit bouncing and seven remarkable studio releases, Sandwich returns with a brand new album entitled “Debris” released under PolyEast Records. CD mall tour will be:
June 12 (Friday, 5pm) – FisherMall Quezon Avenue
June 20 (Saturday, 5pm) – SM Calamba, Laguna
June 21 (Sunday, 5pm) – SM Sta. Rosa, Laguna
Guitarist Mong Alcaraz revealed in an interview, “For the first time, we wanted a single word for an album title. Hence, ‘debris.’ Sa previous albums, mahahaba ang title lahat” referring to previous albums “Thanks to The Moon’s Gravitational Pull” (2003), “Five on the Floor” (2006) and even 2013’s “Fat Salt & Flame.”
“[And] We liked the sound of it,’” bassist Myrene Academia said. “Meron siyang connotation ng survival”
The new album kicks off with the single “Kagulo”—forming together the distinctive tones and melodies that have always been the core of Sandwich– showcasing the 16 years of experience Diego Castillo (lead guitarist), Mike Dizon (drummer), Alcaraz, Academia and Raymund Marasigan have as a band. The second single from DEBRIS called BUHANGIN is now on MYX and premieres online last June 5.
“Debris” is now available for downloads on Spinnr, Deezer, Guvera, Amazon and iTunes Philippines. CD is now available at all leading record bars nationwide released by PolyEast Records for P300.00.
