She has donned many hats – model, writer, VJ, host, endorser, entrepreneur, event producer – over the years. This 2015, the statuesque Sarah Meier puts on yet one more as she joins Metro, the country’s top fashion magazine, as its new editor-in-chief.
Sarah Meier, who has been exposed consistently in the fashion industry throughout her upbringing, is the newest asset of Metro magazine to continue its mission of highlighting the best in fashion and lifestyle.
“What I am most excited about in joining the Metro team is that there is no other platform as unique and primed for growth and greatness in the Philippine fashion magazine arena. Our potential to make a significant impact in empowering women is massive — the undeniable assets that we possess within the ABS-CBN family, the unpretentious relationships we have in the fashion industry, and most importantly, a humble and hungry team that is head over (designer) heels in love with what they do,” the new Metro editor-in-chief said.
Sarah Meier started to gain popularity at age 14 when she began her professional modeling career, which then branched out into a six-year stint as an MTV VJ for Southeast Asia.
She has also explored and advanced her career in many areas. She currently maintains a weekly column in the Arts and Culture section of the Manila Bulletin and an e-commerce site, pormada.com where she holds the position of both General Manager and Creative Director.
Sarah Meier further honed her interests by attending Columbia University’s Graduate School of Journalism where she completed a Publishing course in 2012 and a short course on Advertising and Society in Duke University.
“I want this infectious energy to spill over from the pages of our magazine into people’s lives, and continue coming up with meaningful ways to use fashion to deepen our commitment to ever be in service to the Filipino people. The local fashion industry is being shaped with every creative that enters it, with every relationship built, and every vision realized. It’s the village that figuratively raised me, and the time has come for me to give back by elevating it as high as my six-foot self can take it,” she enthuses.
As Metro’s editor-in-chief, Meier will debut her maiden issue on April, another milestone to add to her flourishing career.
