BPI Foundation will host a Christmas Bazaar featuring social enterprises at Sinag ng Pasko, from 10:00AM to 6:00PM on December 5, 2015 at Green Sun, Chino Roces, Makati City, as part of their continuing efforts to support and promote social entrepreneurship in the country through the BPI Sinag program.
BPI Sinag is an annual nationwide competition aimed at empowering young Filipino entrepreneurs with a social mission. Five winners were awarded with access to mentorship and incubation, seed funding and access to finance last October 6, 2015.
The Christmas bazaar Sinag ng Pasko aims to promote the top 40 social enterprises of BPI Sinag as well as other successful social enterprises which have already made a mark in their respective industries and communities.
The bazaar will also feature a “Conversation with Champions of Change” at 2:00PM to 3:00PM with a panel comprised of successful social entrepreneurs: Rob Crisostomo of SeedCore, Reese FernandezRuiz of Rags2Riches and Paul Orpiada of Karaw Craftventures – the grand winner of this year’s BPI Sinag. To be moderated by Jing Castaneda, a reputable journalist and social enterprise advocate, the talk will tackle issues surrounding the importance of small & medium enterprises, and the growing population of social enterprises as a means to forward inclusive growth.
Sinag ng Pasko invites people to buy truly Filipino items made by marginalized communities. It aims to spread awareness and understanding on the relevance of inclusive businesses to ensure that those in the bottom of the pyramid also feel the effects of our economic progress.
The winners of this year’s BPI Sinag, which comprise of Coco Asenso, Bayani Brew, Siglo, Plush & Play and Karaw Craftventures, will all be displaying and selling during Sinag ng Pasko, along with other top finalists of the program. Aside from the winning start-ups, more established social enterprises like Rags2Riches, Ritual and Messy Bessy will also be in attendance.
At Sinag ng Pasko, visitors will be able to find goods and services ranging from food, fashion, homecare and wellness, toys, cultural items and handicrafts, eco-tours and even consultancy services.
Through Sinag ng Pasko, BPI Foundation aims to bring bright rays of joy and hope to loved ones and also to marginalized communities this Christmas season by acting as a platform for social enterprises to meet new markets and potential impact investors.
