To celebrate the 28th Awit Awards Spotify, the world’s most popular music streaming service, today shares data predicting who will take home the top prizes in two of the award show categories.
To predict the winners, Spotify analysed local data tracking each artist’s streams alongside the listening habits of our 75 million users worldwide.
Filipino-Canadian pop prodigy Darren Espanto, who shot to fame after winning first runner-up in the first season of “The Voice Kids Philippines”, looks set to take the streaming top spot in the Best Performance by a New Male Artist category.
Acoustic songstress and fellow former “The Voice” contestant Moira Dela Torre is favourite to win the Best Performance by a New Female Artist category based on Spotify listens.
“Since Spotify launched in The Philippines two years ago we’ve got to know the listening habits of Pinoy music fans extremely well to the point where we can now predict the winners of the biggest music awards night in the country,” says Sunita Kaur, Managing Director (Asia), Spotify, adding: “Congratulations to all winners in advance!”
