Local cloud computing and data management firm IPC (IP Converge Data Services, Inc.) is pooling together business leaders and stakeholders to tackle the growing role of digitization in today’s enterprises at the 2015 Philippine Cloud Summit. With this year’s theme, “The Enterprise Cloud Journey”, the annual industry event will be held on October 7, 2015 at the Makati Shangri-La Hotel.
According to IPC President Rene Huergas, “Today’s global economy compels Filipino enterprises to take advantage of and adapt to emerging technological trends in order to achieve business success. The Enterprise Cloud Journey takes local companies to a global level of competitiveness, and we at IPC are more than ready to help them start the journey.”
Huergas elaborated that this year’s Philippine Cloud Summit aims to provide attendees with valuable insight and actionable information regarding the role of cloud computing in achieving success and hastened growth within their respective organizations, and the Philippine business sector at large. Furthermore, IPC will introduce the benefits of data mining and analytics especially when making business decisions.
To this end, industry leaders have been lined up to walk the audience through the digital journey for today’s enterprises.
The morning session, targeted to business executives and entrepreneurs, outlines key aspects of the Enterprise Cloud Journey. Jonathan Defensor de Luzuriaga, President of the Philippine Software Industry Association, will speak about how to transform one’s business into a digital enterprise. The topic involves understanding the role of software in business operations, identifying the right applications for your business, and appreciating the advantages of cloud-based apps.
Robert Jenkins, Chief Executive Officer of CloudSigma, will present the business benefits of Elastic Infrastructure, or cost-efficient and on-demand technology. The talk will include understanding supply and demand from an IT capacity standpoint, and how IaaS (Infrastructure as a Service) can significantly improve a company’s financial health.
Adatos Managing Director Drew Perez will conclude the presentations by speaking on uncovering business growth opportunities through data science. His talk will cover how real-time information can be used to make sound business decisions faster, and how to unlock the business potential of stagnant data archives.
The afternoon sessions will comprise of two hands-on workshops for IT and technical leaders and officers. “Creating Secure AppDev Environments in the Cloud” and “Data Science 101: The Art of Analytics” will happen concurrently and will be facilitated by Robert Jenkins and Drew Perez, respectively.
