The Philippines will once again take the spotlight with another major travel event as the Tourism Promotions Board (TPB) wins the bid to host next year’s Travel Blog Exchange (TBEX) Asia happening in October 2016. The announcement was made during the recently concluded TBEX Asia 2015 held in Bangkok, Thailand.
TBEX is the largest gathering of travel bloggers, writers, new media content creators, social media and other industry professionals, attracting around a thousand participants from North America, Europe and Asia. It is a three-day event which will hold a series of meetings, educational seminars and presentations with the participation of renowned international experts, social media influencers and celebrities.
“It is such a great honor for the Philippines to win the bid to host one of the largest events in the travel industry next year, TBEX Asia 2016. This will help the travel bloggers, writers and new media content creators to connect and build relationships with other industry professionals around the world. We would also like to thank various stakeholders for their support in winning the bid. Indeed, TBEX Asia 2016 will not only provide a place for the participants to do business, but also showcase the Philippines as a must-see tourist destination,” said TPB Chief Operating Officer Domingo Ramon Enerio III.
TBEX Asia 2016 will bring together the most creative and most followed personalities of social media sites for travel. It will provide a venue for bloggers as well as travel industry professionals to network and share their insights to the next level. TBEX Asia 2016 will also conduct various events, activities, and tours that will showcase the Philippines and provide a venue for a business-to-business session with local industry members, which will generate media mileage and further promote the country.
Aside from TBEX, the Philippines also has other major international events lined up for 2016 such as the ASEAN Tourism Forum, Madrid Fusion Manila, and MTV Music Evolution Manila. The hosting of TBEX and other big international events attest that our country is becoming a primary destination not just for adventure travelers but for meetings, incentives, conventions, and exhibitions/events (MICE) as well.
