His concert is dubbed “UP CLOSE & PERSONAL with Shaggy” is set to stage in Manila on September 6, 2015, 8 p.m. at the Chaos Nightclub – City of Dreams.

Born Orville Richard Burrel, his stage name Shaggy is have to have taken from his shaggy hair. Shaggy was born in Kingston, Jamaica. At the age of 18, he and his family moved to the Flatbush area of Brooklyn, New York. In 1987, he took singing courses in Brooklyn and was discovered a year later, while singing in the streets with friends.

He had further big hits, including “Boombastic” in 1995, the theme tune of a popular Levi’s commercial and won the Best Reggae Album in the 1996 Grammy Awards. In 2000, Shaggy release the abum Hot Shot, which was certified 6x Platinum in the U.S. The album featured the singles “It Wasn’t Me and “Angel.” The album hit number one on the Billboard 200 and U.K. albums chart.
