Witness history as Red Bull King of the Rock the world’s largest and most prestigious 1-on-1 streetball tournament crowns its first Filipino national champion this Saturday, March 19, 2016 at 5:00PM at Baluarte de Dilao in Intramuros, Manila.
The best local players battled it out in single-elimination games during three heart-stopping Qualifiers in Cebu and Metro Manila. The top 8 finalists from each are headed to the Philippine National Finals, where the winner from each Qualifier will receive an automatic bye in the first round.
One more shot will be given to 16 lucky streetballers at a Last Chance Qualifier at 1PM on the day of the Finals. It will be open to amateur and professional players aged 16 and above as well as those who joined the previous Qualifiers. Of the 16, only the top 4 will advance into the Finals with the other 24 finalists from the Cebu and Metro Manila legs. Similar to the other Qualifiers, the winner of the Last Chance Qualifier will get a bye in the first round of the Finals.
Aside from the 1-on-1 court action, a separate slam dunk competition will put players’ skills and showmanship to the test to find out who is Manila’s highest flyer.
