ANC, the ABS-CBN News Channel anchor Cathy Yang was nominated for Best News Anchor or Presenter in the recently held 21st Asian TV Awards (ATA) in Singapore for her work in “Market Edge with Cathy Yang.”

Yang, who returned to the Philippines and to ABS-CBN last year, is the lone Filipino journalist nominated in the said category of the ATA, considered to be Asia’s equivalent of the Emmy Awards. To date, she already has three ATA Best Anchor awards under her belt.

Yang started her career in ABS-CBN back in 1991 and was part of programs like “Stock Market Live” and “Usapang Business.” She then built a name internationally, working with esteemed news organizations such as Bloomberg TV Asia-Pacific, where she won three ATA Best Anchor awards, Reuters TV, and CCTV News.

The 15-year veteran business journalist returned to ABS-CBN last year to serve as managing editor of ANC. She also anchors “Market Edge,” “Business Nightly,” and “The Boss,” where she is also the executive producer.

Yang was also one of The Filipino Channel’s (TFC) brand ambassadors for its overseas voting campaign #Vote4SelfieWorthyPH which hoped to inspire overseas Filipinos to exercise their right of suffrage by presenting both realities and better scenarios given the right choice.

Meantime, ANC news researcher Mark Toldo, who is part of the award-winning documentary “Mukha,” also received a Social Enterprise Journalism Fellowship from the British Council and Foundation for a Sustainable Society (FSSI) distinction.

Toldo is one of only two media practitioners in the country selected for the fellowship program, wherein he will participate in a two-day activity with Pioneers Post, an online and print magazine for innovators, entrepreneurs, investors, and advisors. He will also have a three-day study visit to the United Kingdom’s leading social enterprises.

Catch Cathy Yang on “Market Edge with Cathy Yang,” “Business Nightly,” “The Boss” and “Mukha” on ANC via TFC’s various platforms worldwide.

Catch up episodes are available on TFC.tv and TFC IPTV.
