Bayside, who recently released their “brilliant” (Outburn) album Vacancy, release a 7-inch of the same name today, featuring non-album track “This Could Be Our Lives” as well as an acoustic version of “The Ghost” with guest Chris Conley (Saves The Day). A digital version of the 7-inch is also available now, and includes the bonus track “Not Fair” (acoustic).

“We have always set out to be a band that had many layers to our music,” explains Anthony Raneri. “We’ve always considered ourselves a punk band that wrote pretty complex songs that really stray from the standard straight forward punk song. Ever since our acoustic record in 2005, acoustic versions of our songs have been a great tool in our arsenal to showcase the depths of our songs without the layers of distortion.”

The Vacancy 7” can be purchased here: bayside.merchnow.com/products/v2/228587/vacancy-transparent-blue-7.

The digital version is available via iTunes here: smarturl.it/Vacancy7inch and is streaming via Spotify here: smarturl.it/Vacancy7inchSpotify and Apple Music here: smarturl.it/Vacancy7inchAM.

Bayside released Vacancy in August of this year and followed the release with an extensive North American tour. The Tim O’Heir (Sebadoh, Hedwig And The Angry Inch) produced album was recorded during Raneri’s time at a Nashville hotel following the dissolution of his marriage. “I wanted this record to be more about what’s happening to me as opposed to having it be all about a disintegrating relationship,” said Raneri when discussing the themes behind the 11-song release. Alternative Press said “the band have fully embraced their theatrical side, creating rock music worthy of filling any arena”, while Magnet described Vacancy as “hook-heavy” and “giant-riffed”.
